The Faith Formation Ministry at Saint James' Episcopal Church is dedicated to the spiritual formation, transformation and renewal of all members of the parish family -- children, youth and adults. The program aims to invite all God's people into the community of the church, enlightening us with a deeper knowledge and love of Christ, Holy Scripture, and the traditions of the church, and energizing each of us to live out our baptismal covenant in the 21st century.
The Faith Formation Ministry at St. James’ invites adults of all ages and stages of life to join us on our spiritual journey. We offer several paths to deepening faith journeys. Our offerings stimulate the mind and enhance spiritual beliefs. And along the way we experience fellowship and fun. The programs are varied and call upon many of the gifts found throughout the Body of Christ. For example, we have offered book studies, such as The First Paul, Reclaiming the Radical Visionary behind the Church’s Conservative Icon. We have also offered Bible studies, such as our recent Advent Bible Study: What does the Lord require of you? We have screened films of ethical or spiritual interest and followed up with discussions, like The Way, with actor/director Martin Sheen. At other times we have invited speakers to talk about faith, finances, end of life care decisions.

We are committed to the spiritual development of our children from baptism to confirmation and beyond by bringing them the Good News, helping them to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a community we seek to love and serve God, to love our neighbors, and to learn what the Bible teaches us about living faithful and fruitful lives.

Currently, we are offering a six week session on The Lord's Prayer exploring the central place of forgiveness in the Christian life, receving God's forgiveness and extending forgiveness to others.  We will meet Mondays beginning September 12 at 6:30pm in the Upper Room (formerly the Youth Room).  All are welcome; please join us.
